As a Remote UK based Cloud Engineer, you will be delivering complex solutions to ensure our client's platform remains secure, available, and high-performing at all times.

Role
As a vital member of our Cloud Platform Engineering Team, you will optimise and maintain automation standards, ensuring continuing deployment and management of containerised platforms across GCP.
You will be working with:
- Kubernetes (building clusters, not just consuming and deploying)
- Terraform
- CI/CD Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery
- Cloud Native Platforms/Environments
- GCP, AWS and Azure Cloud Platforms
- Automation Standards
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and provisions a wide range of tools, services, and cloud platform solutions from CI/CD to Compute Orchestration
- Work closely with the engineering team to ensure that tech development and delivery is implemented to specification and of sound quality
- Work in an Agile team, contributing to typical Agile ceremonies, such as Sprint Planning, Team Retros, Team Demos with a shared work ethic
Person
To be successful in this Cloud Engineer role, you will have:
- Extensive operational experience of working within Google Cloud Platforms (GCP)
- Wide ranging operational experience with Container technologies (Kubernetes, GKE, EKS, ECS, Docker)
- Good operational experience and understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaaC), most notably Terraform
- Recent experience using CI/CD frameworks and implementing best practices
- Significant experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or any other suitable development languages
- Conceptual knowledge of AWS & Azure Cloud Platforms
If you also have the following experience, then you may be the person we need:
- Strong diagnostic/troubleshooting skills for complex enterprise systems
- Able to quickly learn and work with new languages and technologies
- Ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with peers, managers and both internal and external customers
- UK based, remote, occasionally meeting up with team members in Manchester
- On call for out of hours system support (paid overtime)
