Role
Our current challenge is to develop and implement internal data migration tools which are of vital importance to our client for the delivery of their business-model.
- Business Analyst
- Reporting to the project manager and Founder
- Managing a squad of 5 engineers and QA
- Coordinating the squads activity and engender a high performing culture of delivery
- Liaising with internal Project Manager and the client’s Business Analysts
- Managing relationships with other squads
- Instilling a culture of team responsibility to deliver
- Ensuring excellent user stories are fed into the squad for delivery
- Backlog management
- Ticket management
- Ensuring user stories are broken down into the appropriate tickets
- Ticket estimation
- Experience in writing Quality/success criteria
- Occasional requirement to have out of hours discussions with our client’s customers who are based in different time zones
Deliverables
- Successful team management
- Managing current and future workload to achieve optimum squad output
- Quality of Tickets – scope, terminology, estimates, QA etc
- Ability to meet deadlines measured by
- Keeping the work flowing through to done – reduced wait times, squads fully utilised
- Reducing concurrent workstreams
- Clear and recorded prioritisation of work to be completed, sticking to the agreed plan
- Completion of inflight work before taking on new work
- Kanban metric reports – define and measure what good looks like
- Continuous improvement metrics – velocity, retrospectives, reduce standard deviation
Person
Background / experience
The successful Business Analyst must have:
- line management of squad (6 people) coaching, developing, evaluating the team
- Client facing / consultancy environment – proven ability to manage external stakeholders
- Ability to gain clear requirements from client Business Analysts
- Understanding of the commercial realities and the need to get things done
- Proven expertise of working in successful multi squad development environment
- Knowing the skills of the team and matching skills to the tasks
- Ownership and accountability for your own workload and communication of updates
- AWS experience
- Experience of Agile, preferably Kanban, Agile culture, focused on quality and continuous improvement
- Understanding of the complexities of data quality, mapping and transformation as part of system migrations
- Able to support functional testing
- Experience writing quality tickets and managing them through to delivery
Desirable:
- Knowledge of energy industry
